In February of 2016, Oakland based Afro-diasporic soul singer and artivist Jennifer Johns will embark on a unique journey in music and imagery called The F.U.N Manifesto Tour. ( Free U Now) On February 18, 2016, beginning in Johannesburg, moving on to Cape Town and Durban South Africa, she will perform her global movement music, collaborate with local musicians and inquire about the people’s ideas of freedom. This journey will be captured through a series of video and written blog and musical collaborations with locals. The first leg of the tour will be media sponsored by I Love Being Black , the largest black fan page in the world boasting over 6.4 million followers.



Jennifer Johns is a siren, a call to worship, the horns before battle, your spirit’s amplifier. Vacillating between soul, hip hop, afro beat, dancehall, reggae, deep house and all rhythms in between, this sultry powerhouse produces sounds and experiences that are sure to stir your soul, inspire your mind and move your body. a self-proclaimed Artivist, (artist + activist) Johns acknowledges that part of her life’s work is to leverage her art for social-spiritual change.

Jennifer has rocked with some of the best in the business including the likes of Ms. Lauryn Hill, The Black Eyed Peas, Mos Def, Capelton, Ziggy Marley, Gil Scott Heron, Meshell Ndegeocello, Les Nubian and Nas to name just a few.
