B.Lewis – Passing Portraits

 Electronic/Electronica
 LP

Vocalist and arranger B.Lewis dives deeper into his particular brand of electronica informed funk & soul on his most recent selection, the Passing Portraits LP (HERE). Charged and electric for most of its run, the album has an infectious restlessness to it that stands head and shoulders above the majority of the music being offered up by other creative types working in the EDM/trap-soul/keep-the-club-lit scene. Standout moments include a high-flying bit of club-funk brilliance called “Game Set Match”, the bubbling and off-kilter theatrics of “Posted”, a blinding shot of drum fizz electricity called “K.I.T.S”, the tropical tinted and aptly titled “Drift”, and a thumpin’ trap-vibe cut called “Wipers” (featuring rapper Soosh*e!)
