Thomas Prime – Cult Classic Remixes

Check out this Cult Classic Remixes album from producer,DJ, and Cult Classic Records co-founder Thomas Prime , who turns in a roomy set that is (strangely enough) built on an underpinning of heavily layered, straight-from-the-crate breaks and hazy downtempo melodies. Using a great ear (and probably lots of patience), Thomas Prime pairs great instrumentals and acapellas on this album, with notable musical moments like a densely thumping, “timbs & hood check” type cut called “B.C. Before Crack” (featuring production from Samurai Guru and rhymes from Akin Yai); an elevated and summery cut called “Time Passes” (featuring production from Esbe and rhymes from Jas Mace  of the group The 49ers); and gleaming socio-political soundpiece called “Angel Dust” (featuring production from L’indecis and verses from Awon and Dephlow.
