Lorine Chia & Romero Mosley – NameOfEP

 Soul/R&B
 EP

Singer Lorine Chia and producer Romero Mosley share sounds that are sunny and ambrosial feeling while also being thickly layered and topical on their latest production, When Morning Comes (HERE). Standouts on the 6 track jazzy-soul opus include the buttery album opener “A Little While (5683), the cherry chillout jewel that is Intergalactic Love (Interlude)” (which clocks in at a fully satisfying 5 minutes), and the smokey drum break & piano soul closer “Find Your Love” (featuring a closing poem from the well loved Dungeon Family representer Big Rube).

Amare Symoné – GlassWindows

 Soul/R&B
 EP

Singer/songwriter Amare Symoné lifts the veil on a store of casually rapturous, mosaic soul numbers on the just released EP, Glass Windows (HERE). Sounding wise beyond her years on songs that command warm and simmering powers, the rising young performer – alongside producer/collaborator NversivE still allows her personality and youthful energy to shine bright throughout the 7 track player.

Jess Nolan – Strike A Match

 Soul/R&B
 EP

Jess Nolan imparts warm and engaging soul sounds on the 4 track EP Strike A Match (HERE) – a sweetly flowing, intimate pop-soul selection that features a beautifully cathartic opening cut called “Burn” and a deeply felt acoustic jewel called “Change”.

Kaidi Tatham – The Extrovert City

 EP

Kaidi Tatham ascribes springy keyboards and fizzy synth lines to mechanized rhythms and high-spirited breaks on his most recent selection, The Extrovert City EP (HERE).

Prof.Logik – Bokeh

 Hip-Hop/Instrumental
 EP

Prof.Logik liberates some especially meditative beats & breaks on his latest offering, the 7 track Bokeh EP (HERE) – a cool-out production that, in the producer’s own words, served as a means of dealing with his own depression and anxiety. Highlights include the drugsy funk number “Walking Flag of Ethiopia“, a late night animation bump joint called “Blurry Day Dream” and a 70’s electric jazz tinted creation called “Out of Focus”.

Birocratic – Replaced

 Hip-Hop/Instrumental
 EP

Birocratic turns in the gracefully nimble and rock solid instrumental EP Replaced (HERE).

[su_highlight background=”#fff799″]The music on this record was first written three years ago in my oceanside hometown, Cape May, NJ. In the time since, each song has been through as many changes as I have. Now, just before I move away, I’m finally ready to share it all with the world.[/su_highlight]

Byron The Aquarius – What Up Doe? vol. 1

 Electronic
 EP

New music from producer Byron The Aquarius on the EP, What Up Doe? vol. 1 (HERE) – an upwardly spiraling, dancefloor flooding aria with standout sound springs like the strobe light bathed “She Want To Work It” and the starlight & cool night air draped traveler “Chicago to Detroit”

Sanura – SAGA

 Soul/R&B
 EP

Sanura ferries luminous and pastoral electro-soul waters on her newest offering, the 7-track SAGA EP (HERE). The sound and energy here is veiled, seductive, and nuanced in a “shared glances in a dimly lit room” sort of way. Not limiting herself to just R&B or electronica, the young starlet shines on album highlights like the smokey synthwave number “Unlikely Lovers” (featuring rapper Intalek); an ethereal “fog on the water” number called “UDKMN”; the syncopated and soulful house-music stepper “Jungle Fever”; and a ritzy & rejuvenating energy jolt called “909” (featuring SMPL).

TV Pow – TV Pow

 Electronic
 EP

New music from Chicago-based electro production team TV Pow on their self-titled EP, TV Pow (HERE).

[su_highlight background=”#fff799″]Evocative rhymes and soulful voices over pulsing, humanistic beats. Optimistic. Realistic. Somnambulistic pianos and hypnotic bass lines. A dash of frenetic near-futurism. Timeless and immediate. Flow and poetry. Feels like the city. Sounds like the summer.[/su_highlight]

Peezy & Jikan – Minutes Until Dawn EP

 Hip-Hop/Rap
 EP

Laid-back rap cat Peezy commits casual rhyme acrobatics to tape over Texas-based beatsmith Jikan‘s lo-res, jazz looping instrumentals on the Minutes Until Dawn EP (HERE). Take flight to these five hazy glowing signets from duo, with the vibe heavy title track “Minutes Until Dawn” holding fast as the EP’s standout track.

[su_highlight background=”#fff799″]This 5 track EP is a collaborative effort from the emcee Peezy & producer Jikan. This EP features all production from Jikan, and also a verse from Hujili.[/su_highlight]
